Montenegro’s state-owned power utility, Elektroprivreda Crne Gore (EPCG), has strengthened its leadership in the regional energy transition by signing two key Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with leading French renewable energy companies.
The first MoU, signed with AKUO ENERGY, establishes a framework for the joint development of a floating solar power plant on Slano Lake, as well as broader cooperation in renewable energy projects. The signing ceremony was attended by the French Ambassador to Montenegro, Anne Marie Maskay, highlighting the importance of international cooperation in Montenegro’s green transition.
The agreement was signed by EPCG CEO Ivan Bulatović and AKUO ENERGY Chairman Eric Scotto, expressing the two companies’ commitment to increasing renewable electricity production — with a focus on the floating solar project and potential future ventures, including additional solar plants and battery storage systems.
The second MoU was signed with Wind Fisher, setting the foundation for collaboration on innovative wind energy technologies. The document was signed by EPCG CEO Ivan Bulatović and Wind Fisher CEO Stéphane Vidaillet.
“EPCG is continuously working to leverage domestic potential and foster international cooperation in the field of renewable energy. Partnerships with AKUO and Wind Fisher represent an important step toward achieving our strategic goal — building a stable, innovative, and sustainable energy future for Montenegro,” said Bulatović.
By signing these two MoUs, with EPCG Development and Investment Director Ivan Mrvaljević also in attendance, the company reaffirmed its commitment to sustainable energy solutions, technological innovation, and international collaboration as key pillars of Montenegro’s green transformation.
