The turnover of companies in Montenegro in 2022 amounted to 10.02 billion euros, as announced by Monstat.
“The gross value of production in 2022 amounted to 6.68 billion euros, intermediate consumption 3.81 billion euros, while gross value added amounted to 2.87 billion euros,” states the announcement by Monstat published at the end of last year.
The largest share in turnover was contributed by wholesale and retail trade and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles, amounting to 4.37 billion euros.
In Monstat’s structural survey on the business operation of companies in Montenegro in 2022, it is stated that the processing industry accounts for 1.1 billion, and construction for 1.02 billion euros.
The aim of the structural survey on the business operation of companies is to calculate the indicators necessary for analyzing the structure of business subjects’ activities, the structure of inputs and outputs of the production process, business success, and the competitiveness of economic entities.
Turnover, as explained by statisticians, includes calculated revenues from the sale of goods and services without value-added tax (VAT).
Gross value of production represents the market value of all produced goods and services.
Intermediate consumption at purchase prices is the value of products and services that are transformed, used, or consumed in the production process. Gross value added represents the difference between the gross value of production and intermediate consumption.
Data for compiling structural business statistics (SBS) and calculating indicators are collected from administrative and statistical data sources.
The most important administrative data sources are the financial reports of companies and statistical annexes.
